From the arena shows to watching their Scouts engaged in the program, Scout leaders will leave the jamboree with many positive memories.
Jerry Sheldon, Subcamp 11, Central Region, said his favorite memory was “seeing the Scouts totally excited and pumped when they came back to camp at the end of the day and wanted to tell about all that they had done.”
Eddie Wessell, Subcamp 12, Central Region, agreed. “What other group (Scouters) in the United States will pay to come for two weeks just so (Scouts) could have a good time?”
Wayne Hamre, Subcamp 14, Central Region, Reggie McCue, Subcamp 15, Southern Region, and Will Bishop, Subcamp 9, Western Region, all talked about the camaraderie of meeting Scouts from across the country and around the world.
Matt Morgan and Chuck Wayman, both from Subcamp 12, Central Region, said Saturday’s arena show was the “ah-hah” moment at the jamboree. Russ Neubauer, Subcamp 4, Northeast Region, said the arena event showed “the change that is making Scouting more relevant to today’s youth. “

Jamboree looks great on web. Made it to the 1957, 1964, 1977 & 1981 jamborees with my father, also a Scout/Scouter. Garnet C. Nye Jr., Eagle class 1966, Valley Forge, Juniata & Cradle of Liberty Councils. Also, “Hello,” to brother APO’s.
AWESOME job with the Jambo website!! Thanks for your many talents, detailed reporting, and varied coverage of the entire Jamboree. I used the website extensively the past 10 days and it was great to follow along via the numerous articles, updates, photos, and videos while my son was there. In his communications home, I felt much more in sync with what he was describing. Except for the heat and long lines, I felt like I was there!! Sure hope you will post the Aug 3 edition of the Jamboree Today newspaper so I can keep up with the last day of activities. Thanks again
I agree with Kim (above), fantastic job by the Web Team! Professional, timely, true to the spirit of Jambo. Especially great was the social networking connections and the immersive video. Better than being there (not really, but it was great).
Scouting is all about keeping relevant with today’s boys (and girls) while keeping in mind the components that make Scouting the premiere youth organization in the world. The website scored on both counts.
Hats off to the Web Team and all the hard work for the excellent coverage.
