Go back – and take the DAC

Every scout knows what it means to “do your best.” That’s especially true for those who face physical and mental disabilities. Scouts who visit the Disabilities Awareness merit badge booth can take the disabilities awareness challenge (DAC) – and earn a cool pin for completing all 20 activities that simulate what others with physical and mental challenges may encounter.

Try wheelchair basketball. Check out the laser BB guns. See how well you do with one-armed volleyball or the cane/crutch obstacle course. Scouts will experience first-hand what persons with disabilities face every day.

Contact Tony Mei, DAC team leader, at 714-697-8913 for more information.
